Our October beach trip

This year, we took an RV and stayed at an RV park in Perdido Key, FL for 4 1/2 days.
This is Z and C looking for hermit crabs and playing in the bay.
M in the bay. Notice the very pink face. We had just spent 2 hours in the ocean and then spent another 1 1/2 hours in the bay. I didn't reapply sun block as often as I should have!!
Z peeking out from under her hat.
C in the bay
Daddy working on "wetting a line" (That's all he did!!)
Looking at the beautiful houses on Ono Island.

Z zooming down the water slide with friend, H, behind her.
M looks a little concerned coming down as her friend, P, watches
We drove over to Mobile to attend the wedding of one of daddy's old friends. The reception was at a golf course so I took the opportunity to snap some photos of the kids.
I love C's expression in this picture!
I asked them to pose for individual pictures and M immediately struck a pose.
Z struck a pose and kept saying, 'Cheese"
C getting low for the camera.
Z, C, the bride, and M
C, standing with all of the boys, waiting to catch the garter.
C caught the garter and proudly wore it this way ALL night! He also believes that he met his future bride that night. He never got her name but called her "flower girl" b/c she had on a floral dress. I hate that I didn't get a picture of her b/c she danced with him 1/2 of the night. Oh! Did I mention that she was 14 years older than him!
C.....having his dance with the bride
C playing "air guitar" and jamming on the dance floor.
All 3 "getting down" (or in C's case, getting up)
Z, C, M saying their goodbyes to the ocean on our last day there.
Z trying to catch something.
M looking for shells
M, in the water. C and friend, L, gathering water for their sand castle. And friend, P, gathering sand for the sand castle.
C working hard on his sand castle. We spent more time with our friends on our last day there. We are so thankful to be at the beach the same time they are. I think it is going to become a yearly tradition!!!

Happy 6th Birthday Z-M-C!!!

On Saturday, Oct. 3rd, we had Z, M, C's birthday party at our church gym. We originally planned to have the party in our back yard but after 2 weeks of downpours, we decided to have it indoors. The theme was "Halloween"!

Maggie's busted lip

M fell at school during play time and busted her upper lip and her nose. Her lip looked 10 times worse than this the next morning.
You can see how it is swollen and red.
You can really see her puffy nose and lip now! Poor baby!
She asked me to put these pictures on here so everyone could see her "boo-boo!"

Being silly & wavy hair

C just being silly and wanting his picture taken b/c the girls had theirs taken.
The girls with wavy hair for school one morning. I french braided their hair and told them that if they slept in the braids, they would wake up with beautiful wavy hair. They LOVED it!!

Earrings

We had made the offer to the girls several times to get their ears pierced. They always declined, but one Saturday morning, M woke up and asked if she could get her ears pierced that day. We happily agreed and Z decided that she too wanted hers pierced.
After a few tears, here she is with her new gold stud earrings. She did amazing and LOVES how pretty she looks with them. She can't wait for the 6 weeks to be up so she can take those studs out and try on Mommies earrings!!! Oh no!! We have created a monster!

Close up of her new earrings. I would like to say that I have pictures of Z's new earrings but she TOTALLY FREAKED OUT when the lady came near her with the ear piercing gun. No amount of bribing from myself, daddy, MiMi, or PaPa could change her mind. Later she told us that she will try again when she is 10 years old!!!

1st Day of Kindergarten

August 18th was the kids 1st day of kindergarten. They awoke to some fun surprises in the kitchen to get their day started off right.
They are sleepy but excited!
All dressed and ready. I let them pick out their own clothes for the day and was a little shocked by what they each chose but the clothes definitely showed up off their personalities.
New backpacks!
One more surprise! I was their kindergarten teacher for the 1st week and 1/2 of school. Unfortunately, their kindergarten teacher had a personal emergency and was in the hospital for a week. So, it was back to school for all 4 of us.
M in her new classroom
C in his new room
Z posing for me.
All 3 at the end of the day. M was upset b/c I wouldn't let her read a book to the class on the 1st day. She said I was a very mean teacher. C and Z had a great day and thought it was cool that I was their teacher.
Sitting at their desks on the 2nd day of school.

Thrift Store Finds

Z has been asking for a doctor's costume so we headed to the thrift store and found an old scrub top. She LOVED it. She now works for the Magnolia Endoscopy Center.
M wasn't sure what she wanted to be until we found a brand new Pizza Hut shirt. I had my old name tag from when I worked at Pizza Hut (sad but true) and we have a Pizza Hut cash register and play food that completed her outfit.
C also wanted to be a doctor. He now works at UAB West.
For $1.50, I have 3 happy children!

Family get-together at Gran's house

Z-C-M-cousin D- and our old dog Buster

All of the kids spent the majority of their time playing air hockey. M actually beat almost all of the boys.

Our little friend, M.E.
Our "Big Kid" friend, A.K.
Our same age friend, C, who loved sliding down the wet side after it rained on us a little. He landed flat on his booty right after this shot was taken.

We ended the day with C taking a nasty fall on the concrete. He scrapped his knee and ankle.
He scrapped his elbow so bad that a volunteer fire dept. worker (who luckily was there) had to go get his medical kit and wrap his arm.
He also scraped his ribs. Poor fellow. His day was done!
